Boom Adaptor for Track Fitting
Required for Catalina/Capri boom fitment
Thanks for choosing the Boomkicker. The adaptors are for booms with a unique ridge which runs along the bottom. The ridge is approximately ½” wide and ¾” deep. The base of the track for the Boomkicker is wider, approximately 1-1/4”. To add support to the overhanging portion we supply adaptor strips for each side.
For installation we recommend locating and attaching the track fitting per instructions, then install the strips. It might be possible to loosen the track slightly, position the strips, and tighten down the track to hold the strips in place so no drilling or tapping is required. If the strips come out of position too easily, then another option is to apply a dab or two of adhesive/caulk between the strips and ridge to hold them in place. Finally, if preferred, we have supplied 4 screws (1/4-20×5/8”) as a secure way to attach the strips in place. If you use this method, drill mounting holes between the mounting screws for the track so they will not intersect.
